Angela's love for art began in 1968 as a child, influenced by her grandfather, a poet, musician and artist. His drawing reflected the world that surrounded him in black and white absent of color. In this absence of color, she felt an inner thirst for vibrancy and the endless hues of emotion that exist within our lives. She wanted to capture color in its purest sense and forms.

Her artistic journey is based on personal life experiences. Her art draws from her life as a granddaughter, daughter, mother, wife, widow and her education in fine arts and graphic design along with other academic achievements and training.  This has molded and shaped her; as well as the artwork itself.  It is Angela's inner journey and ongoing path to discovery that makes her prolific. As Michelangelo stated, “Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.”

Angela's concept is to free her image from the canvas without leaving the canvas itself. At first she could not fully understand why painting on a clean white canvas did not satisfy the need of finding some other surfaces to paint on. Pollack knew when he freed himself from the brush stroke he found his freedom to great masterpieces. She finally found what she was looking for when she began painting on clear plastic and acetate, stretched over a wooden frame and then two sided glass pieces painted on one side with 2 completely different images showing on each side. She was able to free her artwork from the static wall.

In order to achieve this goal Angela's paintings are created on a single side of clear plastic and glass. The first image is actually the back side of the canvas but seen as if it is front of the artwork. This also inverts the traditional process where on canvas the artist’s first strokes become hidden behind subsequent strokes. Basically, she must work backwards and in a mirror image. The second image is painted in tandem with and directly on top of the original image. Where she sees the true beauty is that the secondary image is created on top of the paint and no longer on plastic or glass. This actually achieves the freedom that she seeks.

Looking deeper, the transparent surface allows both images to capture their environment outside of the plastic and glass. An interactive element occurs when two viewers, one on each side, are able to become unique parts of the overall work. By doing this, she  have achieved hyper reality.

When Georgia O'Keeffe traveled into the New Mexico landscape she had found her autonomy by capturing the subjects that spoke truth to her vision of freedom. In a similar sentiment, Angela seeks to capture a thought, a un-heard sound and an emotion. As you spend time with the painting more is revealed and more images come out of what initially seemed so clear. The paintings in these series have had two solo exhibitions at the James A. Rutherford Center in Boca Raton, FL USA. and the Old School Square art school and Museum in Delray Beach Florida USA. The theme would be a musical concert where the performers are the patrons in the outdoor space.

Angela uses a wide variety of surfaces to pain on - canvas, various paper types, tracing paper, wool, yarn, cheesecloth, tweed, denim, board, foam board, tin, aluminum and wood. Her works are created using acrylics, oils, water colors, pencil, ink, crayon, pastels, oil pastels and charcoal.
